Het congres wordt van harte aanbevolen door / recommended by:

We are happy to invite you to a very special conference

We have great expectations. We will welcome you as our guest. You! our colleague with interest in play.

In a special building…..

We are organizing the conference in two special buildings. The House of Children’s Rights has opened in 2010 after being restored and now holds several organizations focused on children’s rights. These organizations organize different activities concerning children and youngsters. Besides that, it is a knowledge centre for all questions concerning the rights of children. And Corpus is not just a congress centre but it is also the place where you can make a journey through the human body. Corpus is located near the city of Leiden. One of many reasons to choose these locations!

In an interesting city…….

Leiden is our city of children rights! At University Leiden it is possible to get a UNICEF children’s rights Degree Master of Laws in Advanced Studies. Located here is also the House of Children’s Rights. The children’s right to play is documented in Article 31 of The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child:

“That every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts. That member governments shall respect and promote the right of the child to participate fully in cultural and artistic life and shall encourage the provision of appropriate and equal opportunities for cultural, artistic, recreational and leisure activity.”

Is a beautiful old university city. If you wish, we will take you, in a traditional boat to the center of this beautiful place. Leiden has the traditional Dutch view with canals, old houses and plenty of culture. The painter Rembrandt was born here. And there are several hotspots that remind us this great painter was born in Leiden and spent his early years in this city. You will find in Leiden a lot of museums. The many students have rejuvenated this city that has opened it’s doors to modern possibilities. Nearby Leiden is the beach and our famous flower fields. During the date of our conference the “Keukenhof” will still be still open for visiting.

With a special program……

A little preview of our country and toy libraries. Conference May 2017: toy libraries, keep play alive.

We will offer you a varied program, a lot of opportunities to meet & greet. Discussion and workshops. We have invited inspiring speakers with current topics and new information around play, toys, child involvement and toy libraries. It is a program for listening and exchange, for seeing and doing.

…. In which you are important…..

We look forward to meeting/seeing  you. Your opinions, management of toy libraries, view of current devolvement’s around play, are important to share.
A lot of our toy librarians, want to meet you, to exchange information. Unicef has stated, that the Netherlands inhabits the most happy children of the world. They have all possibilities. They can play. All be true, but we have our problems. Perhaps our children have too much and is it very necessary to learn how we can let children play with the “less is more” attitude, outside, with their own ideas, with old values in new challenges. We will showcase our toy libraries in movies, photo’s, excursions. We will inform you and will want to hear from you, about new problems and new chances for our communities.

From that perspective we are interested in the goals you have set for your organizations for children’s welfare and play. Without YOU there will be no conference.

Therefore….we are looking forward to your contribution

The four pillars of a toy library – play, materials, people and place – will be our focus during the conference. In a balanced mix of learning, meeting and exploring experiences toy library employees and experts that share their knowledge, experiences and ideas.
